We made it to New Orleans last night, and the weather forecast looked rough....rain EVERY DAY we are here. This morning the forecast showed a 50% chance of rain until about 10am, so I headed up to the levee to figure out what today had in store. I decided to run towards Kenner for 2-2.25 miles then turn around, bouncing east and west until I go 5-6 miles. I felt really good during the first 2.25 miles, so I decided to go for 7 miles. I figured if I ran back to where I started and then a little farther and again back, i would be around 5 miles. Then if I ran another mile and back, I would be set. But when I turned around at the 2.25 mark, I realized the wind was at my back during the first part. That meant 3 miles coming up with the wind in my face! It was a struggle to say the least, but I made it through. My total time was 1:05:21 for a 9:19 pace. Here are my splits:
Mile 1: 9:10
Mile 2: 9:06
Mile 3: 9:25
Mile 4: 9:17
Mile 5: 9:34
Mile 6: 9:30
Mile 7: 9:13
